Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Malakoff's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Malakoff had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Quitman on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 18-3. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.

Malakoff has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Quitman, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Malakoff wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Mineola on the 8th. As for Quitman, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Grand Saline on the 8th.
