Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is White River's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

After only two runs in their last matchup, White River made sure to put some runs up on the board against Kent-Meridian on Monday. The Hornets blew past the Royals 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won ten games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jadyn Olson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Akins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Kennedy Selander was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

White River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

White River is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Kent-Meridian, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
