Recap: Powers Lake Ranchers vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux
The Powers Lake Ranchers had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a serious blow against Westhope/Newburg, falling 82-37.
It was another big night for Walker Braaten, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 2 assists for Westhope/Newburg. The contest was Braaten's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Hunter Tolstad was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Powers Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Westhope/Newburg, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Powers Lake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Surrey at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will be playing at home against Our Redeemer's Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
