Volleyball Recap: Hurricane Comes Up Short

Hurricane came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Owyhee Storm, falling 3-0.

Despite the loss, Hurricane still got an impressive performance from Arianna Hoffman, who had 16 digs. Hoffman has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Owyhee was led to victory by Bella Hordemann and Reese Meier. Hordemann had 13 digs and five assists, while Meier had 14 kills, ten digs, four aces, and one block. Those five assists gave Hordemann a new career-high.

Hurricane's loss dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Owyhee, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Hurricane wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Crimson Cliffs on the 10th. As for Owyhee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Ridgevue on the 9th.
