Softball Recap: Clyde Wins Going Away Against Breckenridge

Clyde won the last time they faced Breckenridge and things went their way on Saturday too. The Clyde Bulldogs were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Breckenridge Buckaroos. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Brileigh Dailey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chasity Davis, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Clyde was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 18 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Clyde's record now sits at 6-2. As for Breckenridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4-1 record this season.

Clyde will head out to face off against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Clyde: 3.5, San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy: 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Breckenridge, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cisco at 5:00 p.m. Cisco will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Breckenridge surely won't give up without a fight.
