Baseball Recap: Arcadia Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Arcadia Valley extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-5. They blew past the Fredericktown Black Cats 12-1. 12 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Tegan Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Knox Beard was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Paul Young also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Arcadia Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.

As for Fredericktown, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered against Arcadia Valley since May 3, 2021.

On Fredericktown's side, David Slinkard made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia Valley will face off against Ste. Genevieve at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fredericktown, they will challenge Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
