Softball Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes a Loss

Pleasant Grove came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 25-7 to the Clay-Chalkville Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 last Friday.

Ta'Riyah Riles made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Harris, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clay-Chalkville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant Grove will head out to face off against Pinson Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clay-Chalkville, they will take on Center Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
