Pacific Lutheran and Shalhevet are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2018, but not for long. The Stingrays will be playing in front of their home fans against the Firehawks at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Pacific Lutheran came up short against Compton Early College and fell 3-1.

While Pacific Lutheran ultimately came up short, they really made Compton Early College work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 18-25, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Shalhevet was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of de Toledo.

Pacific Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Shalhevet, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went Pacific Lutheran's way against Shalhevet in their previous meeting back in September, as Pacific Lutheran made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Stingrays repeat their success, or do the Firehawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
