Baseball Recap: Herrin Has No Trouble Against Chester

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pinckneyville, Herrin was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Chester Yellowjackets with a sharp 9-2 victory.

Talan Nemeth was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tanner Hall was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Herrin's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chester, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Herrin has already played their next matchup, an 8-6 loss against DuQuoin on the 22nd. As for Chester, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Carterville on the 25th.
