Basketball Recap: West Monroe Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

West Monroe won the last time they faced Vidalia and things went their way on Friday too. The West Monroe Rebels walked away with a 75-62 victory over the Vidalia Vikings. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Vikings are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Monroe's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Vidalia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Monroe will finish 2024 at home by hosting Washington at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Vidalia, they will host Delhi at 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
