Softball Recap: Boiling Springs Has No Trouble Against West Perry

Boiling Springs lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Perry, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Bubblers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Mustangs on Friday. This was payback for the Bubblers, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Delaney Lawyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Lawyer was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Peyton Lawyer was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. Kayla Fry was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Boiling Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Perry only posted an OBP of .381.

Boiling Springs' win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for West Perry, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-13-1.

Coming up, Boiling Springs will look to defend their home field on Saturday against William Penn at 12:00 p.m. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.73 runs per game on average), something the Bubblers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Perry, they are taking a road trip to take on Bermudian Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
