The Hilmar Yellowjackets were the 57-45 winner over the Pacific Grove Breakers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Hilmar took a serious blow against Pacific Grove on Friday, falling 70-41. Hilmar was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.

When it comes to explaining why Hilmar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Silveira. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Solorio, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.

Andrew Nimri was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Nimri, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals.

Hilmar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pacific Grove, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Hilmar will face off against Carmel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carmel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hilmar in California (Carmel is ranked 97th, while Hilmar is ranked 1049th). As for Pacific Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saratoga at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
