The Geneva Knights will head out to challenge the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
New Smyrna Beach will be up against a hot Geneva squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Knights blew past The First Academy 11-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Knights have won 12 matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bella Ortiz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.
In other batting news, Ella Ingram was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Briana Rodammer was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The First Academy only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, while New Smyrna Beach put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Atlantic. The Barracudas were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Sharks. The win continues a trend for the Barracudas in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won four in a row.
New Smyrna Beach got a massive performance out of Kelsi Dodge, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Hausknecht, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Geneva pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for New Smyrna Beach, their record now sits at 4-13.
New Smyrna Beach's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Geneva has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .525.
