After a string of five wins, Westmoore's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Piedmont Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Saturday.

Westmoore took Piedmont into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12.

Westmoore's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Piedmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Westmoore is set to take on their familiar foe Norman at 6:00 p.m. on September 4. Meanwhile, Piedmont will square off against rival Norman North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
