Football Recap: Alexander Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Alexander lost against Rome back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars were outmatched by the Wolves and fell 59-7. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Wolves are ranked 29th).

This is the second loss in a row for Alexander and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Rome, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexander will challenge New Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguar's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rome, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Villa Rica at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
