Softball Game Preview: Klein Bearkats vs. Magnolia West Mustangs

The Klein Bearkats will venture away from home to challenge the Magnolia West Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Klein is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Tomball just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2.

Klein saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikayla Holcomb, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Magnolia West has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.95 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against Tomball, falling 11-0. That makes it the first time this season the Mustangs have let down their home crowd.

Magnolia West suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 15-5. As for Klein, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.

Klein came out on top in a nail-biter against Magnolia West when the teams last played on March 4th, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Klein since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
