Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale Rams vs. Trinity Shamrocks

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kennard-Dale can now relate to. They fell just short of the Trinity Shamrocks by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Taryn Ashenfelter was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Ashenfelter has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Ashenfelter was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Ashenfelter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Rinaudo, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
