Basketball Recap: Sussex Tech Ravens vs. Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles
On Saturday, the Sussex Tech Ravens faced the Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sussex Tech received a tough blow as they fell 52-34 to the Eagles. Sussex Tech was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Hodgson Vo-Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sanaa Saunders young, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Saunders young has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thailys Torres, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Sussex Tech dropped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sussex Tech will take on the Senators at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dover will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colonials at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (William Penn is ranked 28th, while the Eagles are ranked 24th).
