Basketball Game Preview: Central Christian Comets vs. Loudonville Redbirds

The Central Christian Comets will face off against the Loudonville Redbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Central Christian is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Oberlin: they outscored them in every quarter. Central Christian blew past Oberlin 71-51 on Tuesday. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Loudonville had to suffer through a 86-59 loss at the hands of Cardington-Lincoln. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), the Redbirds still had to take the loss.

Central Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Loudonville, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Central Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Loudonville in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 55-48. Will Central Christian repeat their success, or does Loudonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
