Basketball Game Preview: Vista Ridge Rangers vs. McNeil Mavericks

The Vista Ridge Rangers and the McNeil Mavericks will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Vista Ridge's tournament run continued when they took on Gregory-Portland on Saturday. Vista Ridge took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gregory-Portland. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cayden Sneed, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points. Gavin Howard was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, McNeil came up short against Vandegrift on Friday and fell 57-47. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Vipers: they've now lost six in a row.

Vista Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for McNeil, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Vista Ridge came up short against McNeil in their previous meeting back in January, falling 45-37. Can Vista Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
