The Kimberly Bulldogs will take on the Teton Timberwolves in a tournament on Saturday. Kimberly is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Kimberly barely beat Wood River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Wolverines 14-4 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Jeremiah Bybee made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. Bybee was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Kimberly: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dillon Chiatovich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Kimberly's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ethan Maikranz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Kimberly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Teton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Buhl. The game marked the first time this season in which the Timberwolves were not able to get on the board.
Teton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Kimberly, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Teton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kimberly has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. It's a different story for Teton, though, as they've only averaged .267. Will they be able to contain Kimberly's hitters?
Kimberly took their victory against Teton in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
