Basketball Game Preview: Tombstone Yellow Jackets vs. Mohave Accelerated Patriots

The Tombstone Yellow Jackets will face off against the Mohave Accelerated Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tombstone comes in on six and Mohave Accelerated on three.

Tombstone is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Morenci by a score of 75-68.

Rachel Thursby was her usual excellent self, going 6-for-12 en route to 23 points and eight boards. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Briella Schuller was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds.

Tombstone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Mohave Accelerated didn't have too much trouble with St. John Paul II Catholic last Thursday as they won 45-31.

Mohave Accelerated's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Tombstone, their victory bumped their record up to 24-5.
