Softball Recap: Grant Generals vs. Lincoln Cardinals
Grant couldn't beat Lincoln on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Generals fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 10-9. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 7-6.
Margot Kalmanson and Gwyneth Gerber did some serious damage despite the final result: Kalmanson went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run, while Gerber went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aria Hein, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.
