Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mineral County). They came out on top against the Sage Ridge Scorpions by a score of 72-61 on Saturday. The Serpents have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Scorpions, too.

Mineral County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaeden Majano led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds.

Mineral County was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Mulvaney, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. The match was Mulvaney's third in a row with at least ten points. Taylor Sullins was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Mineral County's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Sage Ridge, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Mineral County has already played their next contest (against Whittell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sage Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-20 defeat against Churchill County on the 21st.
