Baseball Game Preview: Van Vandals vs. Kemp Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Van will face off against Kemp. The Vandals will venture away from home to square off against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Van has six straight wins, Kemp has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Van beat Kemp 6-1.

Connor Mccurley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has become a key player for Van: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 11-13-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Rawly Hinch was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

Kemp's loss dropped their record down to 2-12-1. As for Van, their record now sits at 15-13-1.
