Baseball Recap: Holtville Comes Up Short

Holtville suffered their closest loss since April 26, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Southwest EC Eagles by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Tuesday.

Holtville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nico Trujillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Holtville dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Southwest EC, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Holtville is set to square off against their familiar foe Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southwest EC will challenge rival Imperial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
