Baseball Game Preview: Green Lake/Princeton Tigersharks vs. Cambria-Friesland Hilltoppers

Green Lake/Princeton is 9-1 against Cambria-Friesland since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigersharks will face off against the Hilltoppers. Green Lake/Princeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Green Lake/Princeton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They skirted past Randolph 3-2.

Green Lake/Princeton got a great performance from Deegan McCutcheon as he struck out 12 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave McCutcheon a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Grant Bartol was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Aidan Luepke also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cambria-Friesland not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24th (when they won 11-0). Everything went their way against Sheboygan Area Lutheran as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Green Lake/Princeton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cambria-Friesland, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9-1.

Green Lake/Princeton was able to grind out a solid win over Cambria-Friesland in their previous matchup back in May, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigersharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
