Basketball Game Preview: Atlanta Rabbits vs. Pleasant Grove Hawks

The Atlanta Rabbits will head out on the road to take on the Pleasant Grove Hawks at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Grove took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Atlanta, who comes in off a win.

Atlanta will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 22 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Rivercrest on Friday. Atlanta wrapped up 2024 with a 62-43 victory over Rivercrest.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-40 bruising from Fouke. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 435th in Texas, while the Panthers are ranked 35th in Arkansas).

Atlanta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Atlanta barely slipped by Pleasant Grove in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 40-39. Will Atlanta repeat their success, or does Pleasant Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
