Basketball Game Preview: Northland Prep Academy Spartans vs. Pinon Eagles

The Northland Prep Academy Spartans will challenge the Pinon Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Northland Prep Academy and three for Pinon.

Northland Prep Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against St. Johns on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Northland Prep Academy had to suffer through a 71-18 loss at the hands of St. Johns. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-2.

Meanwhile, Pinon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 39-35 to Scottsdale Preparatory Academy.

Northland Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Pinon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Northland Prep Academy beat Pinon 47-38 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northland Prep Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
