Baseball Recap: Strawberry Crest Falls Short of Plant City in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Strawberry Crest can now relate to. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plant City Raiders on Tuesday. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Strawberry Crest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dillon Knight, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Strawberry Crest and nudges their season record down to 18-7. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Plant City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-11.

Strawberry Crest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Plant City, they will face off against Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 2.9, the Wolves 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
