It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but McDonough ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 56-55 win over the Jones County Greyhounds. The victory continues a trend for the Warhawks in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won five in a row.

McDonough's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khaleb Young, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave Young a new career-high. Kennedee Jackson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds.

McDonough smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Jones County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Morton, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Rudy Bowden, who went 5-for-11 en route to 11 points along with seven boards and three blocks.

McDonough's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Jones County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

McDonough wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-48 win against Woodland on the 5th. As for Jones County, they have also already played their next game, a 77-40 defeat against Eagle's Landing on the 5th.
