Softball Recap: Jamestown Takes a Loss

Jamestown fell victim to Grafton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clippers. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jamestown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Mayes, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Jamestown now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Grafton, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jamestown will square off against York at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Grafton, they will take on Smithfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
