Mountain View is a perfect 8-0 against Casa Grande since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mountain Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Mountain View's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Vista Grande as they made off with a 7-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

Arianna Figueroa made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, AAliyah Pereda was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mia Lynch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Casa Grande entered their tilt with Maricopa on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 5-0.
The result came thanks to MacKayla Wallace's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trinity Diaz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jourdyn Adsuara, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Casa Grande hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive contests.
Casa Grande's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 20-6.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mountain View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Casa Grande struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Casa Grande when the teams last played on April 7th, winning 7-4. Do the Mountain Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
