Basketball Recap: Durant Takes a Loss

Durant was the 86-72 winner over Steinbrenner when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a blow against the Warriors on Wednesday, falling 79-52.

Durant lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jamarcus Randall, who posted nine points in addition to four blocks and three steals. Nathan Moore was another key player, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 13 points and seven boards.

Brady Griffin was nothing short of spectacular for Steinbrenner: he went 8-for-10 to rack up 21 points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Ethan Spier, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 assists.

Durant's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Steinbrenner, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Durant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-50 defeat against East Bay on the 21st. As for Steinbrenner, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-39 loss against Sickles on the 21st.
