Wickenburg Christian Academy came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Flagstaff Christian as they made off with a 16-5 win. That's two games straight that the Lion have won by exactly 11 runs.

Matt Sheehan made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Sheehan was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Wickenburg Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Ross Egan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Xavier Moralez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Wickenburg Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are undefeated (8-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wickenburg Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for Flagstaff Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wickenburg Christian Academy will host Ajo at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Flagstaff Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thunderbird Adventist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thunderbird Adventist Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Flagstaff Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
