Softball Game Preview: Calera Eagles vs. Auburn Tigers

The Calera Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Auburn Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Calera managed to slip by Chilton County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Tigers on Thursday, falling 9-1. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Calera saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Wade, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alexandria.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Calera, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.
