It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Valley Heights ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Onaga Buffaloes. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jacob Vathauer was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady DeWalt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Vathauer wasn't the only one making solid contact: Valley Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Valley Heights moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Onaga, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Buffaloes beat Valley Heights by a score of 10-0 later that day.
