Baseball Game Preview: Davis Wolves vs. Walters Blue Devils

The Davis Wolves will take on the Walters Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Davis came up short against Marlow on Tuesday, falling 13-3. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Outlaws recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Walters had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Redskins get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on JOHN JONES, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was COOPER CORMANY, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Walters always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Walters pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Davis, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

Davis took their victory against Walters in their previous matchup last Friday by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
