Volleyball Recap: Vernon Hills Falls to Grayslake North in First Game of Season

Vernon Hills unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grayslake North Knights on Tuesday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Vernon Hills was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19.

Among those leading the charge was Lucy Roscoe, who had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Vernon Hills has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Lake Forest on the 27th. As for Grayslake North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Lake Zurich on the 28th.
