Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Grace Christian Academy lost against The Webb School two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grace Christian Academy Lions fell 68-59 to The Webb School Feet.

Despite the loss, Grace Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Ford Deshazo, who went 7 of 12 en route to 25 points and eight boards. That's the most points Deshazo has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ty Gibbs, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

The Webb School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joel Wyatt led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Wyatt has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Evan Kirby was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 17 points.

Grace Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for The Webb School, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing University School of Nashville the next time they take the court. The Webb School will head out to face University School of Nashville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Grace Christian Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
