Recap: Griffith Panthers vs. Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors

After flying high against the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles last Saturday, the Griffith Panthers came back down to earth. Griffith fell 53-44 to Hammond Bishop Noll on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Griffith in their matchups with Hammond Bishop Noll: they've now lost three in a row.

Griffith's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Savon Miles, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Strezo, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.

Hammond Bishop Noll had a senior duo take command as Caleb Parks scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds and Amauri Moore scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Parks has scored at least 25% of Hammond Bishop Noll's points. Another player making a difference was Jaedin Reyna, who scored 8 points.

Griffith's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Griffith will be playing in front of their home fans against Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Illiana Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they will head out on the road to face off against Bloom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Bloom is ranked 49th in Illinois, while Hammond Bishop Noll is ranked 50th in Indiana).
