Basketball Recap: Peoria Christian Piles Up the Points Against Lowpoint-Washburn

With a playoff win on the line, Peoria Christian rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats 85-44. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Lowpoint-Washburn still got an impressive performance from Kody Knecht, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the most assists Knecht has posted since back in December of 2024. Evan Schumacher was another key player, putting up four points.

Peoria Christian is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points over those games. Lowpoint-Washburn has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

Peoria Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-35 win against Brimfield on the 28th. Lowpoint-Washburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
