Baseball Recap: Parker Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Parker ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Minor Tigers 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Thundering Herd as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Courterius Bedgood spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Parker is 8-4 when Bedgood allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Parker saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conellrious Scott, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Jordan Willis was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Parker now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Minor, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-18.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Parker by a score of 16-5 later that day.
