Baseball Game Preview: Thrasher Rebels vs. Tremont Eagles

Thrasher is a perfect 9-0 against Tremont since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Thrasher Rebels will square off against the Tremont Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

While Thrasher's win against Tremont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Thrasher came out on top in a nail-biter against Tremont on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Ryan Tate made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Thrasher is 3-1 when Tate allowstwo or fewer hits, but 2-3 otherwise. Tate was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Tate wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caden Boren, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Another was Samuel Hughes, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

Thrasher pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Tremont, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
