Recap: North Clarion Wolves vs. Union Knights/Damsels
If the North Clarion Wolves were feeling good off their 70-28 takedown of the Venango Catholic Vikings on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Clarion opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-51 defeat to Union. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Clarion in their matchups with Union: they've now lost four in a row.
Union got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Fleming out in front who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The contest was Fleming's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dawson Camper, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
North Clarion has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Union, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Clarion will take on Clarion-Limestone at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clarion-Limestone is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Union, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coudersport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
