Basketball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

Belmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winchester Red & Black. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Red & Black are ranked 16th).

Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Winchester, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cathedral at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Winchester, they will venture away from home to take on North Andover at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
