Softball Recap: Carolina Forest Comes Up Short

Carolina Forest fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against St. James on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Sharks by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 last Monday.

Natalie Nesheiwat made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Zoey Wohlers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Carolina Forest and nudges their season record down to 8-5-1. As for St. James, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

While Carolina Forest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
