The home team had won the previous four meetings between Chatsworth and Cleveland, and Chatsworth kept the tradition alive. The Chancellors put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 9-1 victory on Monday. The Chancellors not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 9-1).
The team relied heavily on Jazzlyn Melara, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Lila Mashhoud was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Birmingham and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Chatsworth, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Birmingham took their victory against Chatsworth in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Chancellors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
