Basketball Recap: Thornapple Kellogg Takes a Loss

Thornapple Kellogg lost against West Catholic back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Thornapple Kellogg Trojans lost 54-29 to the West Catholic Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Falcons are ranked fourth).

Thornapple Kellogg has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for West Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornapple Kellogg will head out to challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thornapple Kellogg is facing Union at the right time seeing as Union is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for West Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Wyoming at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wyoming has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
