Recap: Northwestern Lehigh Tigers vs. Pottsville Crimson Tide
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They secured a 64-59 W over Pottsville. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Crimson Tide players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Alvarez, who scored 17 points. The game was Alvarez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Letrel Montone, who scored 15 points.
Northwestern Lehigh's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pottsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwestern Lehigh will be home for the holidays to greet Catasauqua at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Catasauqua is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Pottsville will be home for the holidays to greet Lehighton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lehighton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pottsville in Pennsylvania (Lehighton is ranked 111th, while Pottsville is ranked 229th).
